Day 2 Golf at Arabella

The Arabella golf course in South Africa is ranked by Complete Golfer magazine as the number one golf course in the Western Cape. It is also featured in Golf Digest’s USA’s Top 60 courses outside of America in 2007. Designed and built in 1999 by celebrated South African golf course architect Peter Matkovich, this classic parkland course has spectacular views across the Bot River lagoon and across the Kogelberg mountain range.
The pristine fairways are kikuyu, while the greens, which frequently receive high praise from professionals in the game, are Dominant Bent. The golf course has been refined in the past six years with the addition of several bunkers and the revamp of the par-four 6th hold in order to rid it of its blind tee shot. Awarded Five-Star Golf Experience for the first time in 2002, the course is complemented by a luxurious clubhouse with bar and halfway house, as well as a fully stocked pro shop and excellent practice area with two resident teaching professionals.
The Arabella Golf Club has been the annual home to the Nelson Mandela Invitational charity golf tournament from 2003, hosting the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Samuel Jackson, Ernie Els, Tim Clark, Lee Westwood and Sam Torrance. Day 3 Golf at Erinvale followed by Wine tasting

Erinvale Golf Course, only 40 minutes from Cape Town and nestled at the foot of the magnificent Helderberg mountains is without doubt one of South Africa’s golfing jewels. Erinvale offers a unique golfing challenge to all levels of players, with breathtaking views of the Cape Winelands as well as the beautiful False Bay Coastline.
Since Erinvale's inception in 1994, this Gary Player designed course has hosted the 1996 World Cup of Golf and more recently both the 2003 and 2004 South African Open, the 2nd oldest golf championship in the world. This superbly maintained championship course offers the golfer two distinctly different nines. The flat outward nine is defined by challenging approach shots to long narrow putting surfaces, with the inward nine offering beautiful vistas from its undulating fairways and a finish that rates among the best in the world.

Day 4 Cape Peninsula Tour

The tour departs at around 09h00 from the Cape Town City Bowl. Takes us through the historic suburb of Sea Point and Clifton. We will travel to Hout Bay via the Victoria Coastal Road. While visiting Hout Bay (Wood Bay from the Afrikaans), established in the late 1600’s, you can take a boat trip to Duiker Island, home to thousands of Cape Fur Seals and local birdlife. Going on around the World Famous Chapman’s Peak Drive. Viewpoints and picnic spots are scattered throughout its 9 km length and its dramatic views have made it a favoured spot for photographers.
The rich diversity of the Cape Point Nature Reserve makes it home to a stunning array of animal and plant species. Visitors can encounter buck, baboons, Cape Mountain Zebra and over 250 species of birds. Head on the False Bay Coastal Road and visit the Penguins at Boulders Beach located just round the corner from Simon’s Town. Boardwalks allow you to get up close and observe the penguins in their natural habitat. A picturesque drive past Fish Hoek and Muizenberg. The warm waters and long stretch of beach make this a popular spot for holidaymakers. Befor returning to Cape Town we see the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, one of the great botanic gardens of the world.

Day 5 Golf at Clovelly Country Club

Nestled in the pristine and tranquil Silvermine Valley close to Fish Hoek in Cape Town lies Clovelly Country Club. This relatively short layout, built among sand dunes, rewards accuracy off the tee and provides players with scenic views of the False Bay coastline. Known for its superb greens, Clovelly ranks as one of the finest courses in the Cape Peninsula. The course was designed by Dr Charles Molteno Murray, one of the best known golf architects of his day and advocate Bobby Lewin was responsible for much of the magnificent landscaping. Together they produced one of Southern Africa's most picturesque and challenging courses.
Famous for its rolling, computer-irrigated fairways and undulating holes, Clovelly complements its rich coastal environment. Natural sand dunes abut the course, which is blessed with water features and a wide variety of indigenous fauna - especially birdlife such as guinea fowl, pheasant, peacock and steppe buzzard - and flora, notably the variety of trees which line the fairways. Unlike some other local courses, there is no noise intrusion from roads or railways, and both course and club house enjoy privacy and security. Clovelly's championship-quality greens (bent grass/poa annua mix) are among the finest in South Africa. There are quite a few tight holes, but one of the best is the par-4 fourth, with out-of-bounds and a stream on the left, and a green guarded by a water hazard.

Day 7 Fancourts Montagu Course

Montagu is a much celebrated parkland course and has been ranked as the number-one golf course in South Africa in the past. It has recently undergone major renovations with several holes being redesigned and has two completely new holes - the 1st and the 9th. The warm-up area, featuring a full-length range and a chipping and bunker practice area, is available to all golfers before play. Please note that to improve your playing enjoyment and to ensure a steady pace-of-play, it is mandatory for at least two caddies to accompany each fourball, and one caddy per twoball.

Day 8 Golf at Pezula

Situated in the picturesque town of Knysna, the jewel of the world famous Garden Route. This stunningly beautiful golf course is a sweeping spectacle of fairways and greens rolling through the pristine Southern Cape landscape. The breathtaking, award-winning 18-hole golf course, designed by David Dale and Ronald Fream of GolfPlan USA, offers visitors who wish to play the ultimate golf course in Knysna, an unsurpassed golf experience and rates amongst the best and the most scenic golf courses in the world. In 2001, just a few months after it opened, the course was awarded Best New Golf Course in South Africa. In February 2005 Complete Golfer rated it a Five Star Golf Experience. The Pezula Golf Club offers Clubhouse facilities that are in keeping with the overall five-star experience, and includes a terrace with spectacular views. Golf carts are obligatory and the resort's carts are fully equipped with GPS systems and computerized scoring. Covering 254 hectares on the Knysna cliff-tops, the Pezula Championship Course has views of both the Knysna Lagoon and the Indian Ocean. Par for the course is 72. It is designed to include a full range of shots, making it a challenging, rewarding and complete golf experience for players of all levels. Signature holes have been earmarked as the 13th and 14th.

The Links at Fancourt is without doubt the most impressive piece of golf design and construction ever in South Africa. Fancourt owner Dr. Hasso Plattner commissioned a golf course, which would not only be a thorough test for every golfer, but would also rank among the top courses in the world on what was once an airfield. The Links was the host venue for the 2003 Presidents Cup, which ended in an historic tie after a dramatic play-off between Tiger Woods and Ernie Els. In December 2005 The Links hosted the SAA Open, the world’s second-oldest national Open Championship. There is little doubt that a round at The Links is a special experience, enhanced greatly by the expert caddies at the club. These caddies are among the best in the world and are sure to assist any standard of golfer negotiate his or her way around The Links.

You will take a short trip to George Airport to catch the domestic 1h flight to Johannesburg. Upon arrival you will be whisked off to Legend Golf and Safari Resort (2.5 hours drive). Africa's most talked about leisure venue has now unlocked the gates to its majestic architectural Great Enclosure and invites golf and safari enthusiasts to enjoy the experience of a lifetime. Legend is home to the unique “world-in-one” Signature Course where each of the 18 holes has been designed by a world golfing legend. The range of wildlife and activities available to experience and enjoy at Legend Golf & Safari Resort is truly impressive. There’s the 50+ mammal species, 300 plant species and almost 400 bird species not to mention the reptiles and amphibians all co-existing in a range diverse eco-systems from grassland to bushveld to forests and mountains. Game drives with the rangers allow you to view all of this and more from the safety of a special game vehicle. Leopards are a regular seen in the reserve which should be no surprise as the Waterberg Mountains are home to the highest concentration of Leopards in the world. Rhinoceros are common and share the open grasslands with the hippo. There’s also a multitude of antelope and other creatures of the bush including the beautifully ugly warthog, wildebeast, impala, kudu as well as a variety of nocturnal animals. The Legend Golf Signature Course is a world first. At the heart of the resort is a championship course designed by eighteen of the world’s top golfers. The list of signatures who have been honored to design a hole reads like a who’s who of world golf. A Par 72, which begins with South African designer Trevor Immelman and ends with South African designer Retief Goosen, the Signature Course boasts amazingly wide fairways and immaculate USGA standard greens. With game meandering across those lush fairways and the enigmatic Hanglip Mountain overlooking the course, the Legend Golf & Safari Signature Course is making a name for itself as Africa's most exciting new golf development. Those who have played the course say it is something very special.
After golf you may want to experience the legendary Extreme 19th Hole (optional Extra) and might win 1.000.000 Dollar by Hole-in-One. Jedes Loch trägt so die eignen und sehr persönliche Note seines Designers. Mit 7.748 Metern gilt der Legend Signature Course zum längsten Golf Course Afrikas. Der Damen Kurs geht über 5.866 Meter. Ein herausragender Golfplatz, der den World Travel Award gewann und auch zusätzlich an Reiz gewinnt, wenn Antilopen und andere Wildtiere die Fairways kreuzen.
Das Extreme 19th Hole das absolute Highlight vom Legend Golf & Safari Resort! Die Bahn liegt in der Wildnis - im Etanbeni Safari Naturreservat. Auf dem Berg Hanglip gehts ca 400 Meter hoch mit dem Chopper (Kosten: bei 2 Px ca. € 480p.P. - 4 Px ca. € 250,- p.P.).
